Life is a Cacophony of Destruction and Beauty

So there is so much to report. Some of it good, some if it tragic.

For the good stuff, I worked on a film with Ben Myrick called Universal Sigh and we used a piece of muci by Ryan Adams - he did a cover of the Oasis song Wonderwall which was spectacular. We want to send the film to festivals, but obviously aren't going to be able to afford the huge sums of mon$$y Universal would have wanted for the rights, so I decided to cover the song myself and see if we could use that recording instead. I enlisted Audio engineer extrordinaire Christian Groves (the audio school he attended gives out two awards at graduation - he is the only student in the schools history to get both) and he did the backing tracks. I added a slide guitar part and did the vocal - we both produced the track. It turned out pretty good. you can check it out on my myspace page

On the note of music, another good thing is I started a band called Gravity Falls. It's going incredibly well. We are in pre-production to play shows and record. In the meantime, we'll be posting some of our practice space rehearsals and so forth on the band's myspace.

Some of my movie project stuff is going quite well, and things continue to take steps forward. It's such a long long road. Someday.

The bad news, is that I have a friend named Amy Wu - she is engaged to my good friend Dave Casler. She had 2 seizures yesterday and is now in a drug induced coma because they do not know what is wrong with her. A CAT scan shows nothing significant, so it is a mystery. Amy is young and beautiful, and was apparently healthy (obviously not though). Dave and Amy are incredible friends and I am in deep sorrow about this. Please pray for her if you can that her life would be spared and the doctors could figure out what the heck is wrong. Dave and Amy are part of the Virgian team that helped plant the Kairos church in Los Angeles. I spent 3 1/2 years with them, and my Kairos church family is a tight knit bunch indeed. My heart goes out to them.

Maybe more to come.. in another post.
